Poem: “Twin Souls”

Twin Souls

Did we once stand –
Priest and Priestess –
in a field of gold?

Were we clasped
hand in hand,
lovers, Lord and Lady?

Did we sing
the songs of old,
symphonic spirits soaring?

Did we dance the Beltane fires,
making love
beneath the moon?

Little doubt that many times
these forest paths have crossed
beneath the silver crescent
that guides our way home.

Such salient familiarity,
the touch of two,
whose spark was forged
upon the anvil of destiny.

Now, our fingers intertwine around
threads of fate that eternal bind
our twin souls of flame.
